Sydney-based rockin’ soul and funky pop band, The Soul Movers, present their third album Bona Fide. The band features soul singer Lizzie Mack on lead vocals, ex-Red Wiggle and ARIA Hall of Famer Murray Cook on lead guitar, bass player Andy Newman (The Visitors), Marko Simec (Waiting For Guiness) on keys, and drummer Stuart Wilson (Loose Pills).

Last year, the band traversed the US to record the tracks for Bona Fide at seven historic studios including FAME Studios, Royal Studios, Muscle Shoals and Sun Studios to name a few. Not only did they record in these hallowed studios, they were also lucky enough to play with some of the greatest session players of our time. Bona Fide has managed to capture the band’s visceral live energy – and much more of the spirit of pure American soul music. It’s clear that The Soul Movers have moved a distinct step forward in what is presumably a quest to be not just a good party band, but a band of real deal soul brothers and a sister. Bona Fide is the sound of a talented, experienced bunch of soul music lovers making a record where the essence of the passion and feeling is coursing through their veins. You can’t really ask for anything more.
