Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney are back with their 9th studio album, “Let’s Rock”. Creating the album from scratch in Auerbach’s Nashville studio, the two easily slipped right back in to the Black Keys, after a 5-year break in which each pursued their own side projects, productions, and raised families.
“When we’re together we are the Black Keys, that’s where that real magic is, and always has been since we were 16,” Auerbach said in statement. “The record is like a homage to the electric guitar,” Carney added. “We took a simple approach and trimmed all the fat like we used to.” Auerbach credits a collaboration with the late cult-favorite guitarist Glenn Schwartz for reconnecting him with his original distorto-blues inspirations, helping feed the new album’s retro-without-apologies sonics.
Expect the usual blistering, swaggering, stunningly-produced blues rock – a very welcome return!
