Description

Love & Peace’, Seasick Steve’s latest in a long string of studio albums is a delicious mash up of raw-boned blues, sweet boogie woogie and folk-rock interwoven with nuggets of honest, salt of the earth storytelling mixing up all of his much-loved ingredients to deliver a fresh new record that offers the perfect antidote for the troubled times in which we live. Full of hope for the future, it’s a great mix of boogie, blues, rock, Americana and folk – all delivered in Seasick Steve’s unique style. It’s a sizzler of an album. This record delivers all the things we’ve come to know and love from Seasick Steve’s unique style with a refreshingly straightforward solid format and sound.

Reflecting the temperament of the album and inevitably Seasick Steve’s own persona, old school methods only were used in the making of the album. Recorded on 2” analogue, it was mixed to analogue, with the vinyl cut taken directly from the 1/2” master tape to the lathe – no technical tampering, no computer-generated notes, nothing but Seasick Steve’s own brand of honest forthright artistry accompanied by some mighty fine fellow instrumentalists.  Steve’s long-term drummer Dan Magnusson (a.k.a. Crazy Dan) is of course featured on the record, along with some amazing contributions from guitarist Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi Allstars) and harmonica player Malcolm Arison.
