Apart from some harp by Jason Ricci, he has again played everything, recorded it, produced it and mixed it in his home studio, the wonderfully named Chubbyland in New York.
With an uncompromising approach to the guitar, humour, a bite in his lyrics as well as his compositional nous, Popa Chubby has been playing blues-rock for more than 30 years and across more than twenty studio albums. His image is as uncompromising as his playing and a performance style he describes as “the Stooges meets Buddy Guy, Motörhead meets Muddy Waters, and Jimi Hendrix meets Robert Johnson” …fortunately, he plays as well as that curious mix sounds.
