Description
In Memphis, Lauderdale recorded at Royal Studios, home base for producer Willie Mitchell and Hi Records, where Al Green cut such iconic tracks as “Tired of Being Alone” and “Let’s Stay Together.” Produced by Lauderdale, the LP spotlights some of Memphis’ finest musicians, including Charles and Leroy Hodges, and Alvin Youngblood Hart. Volume 2, Nashville, was produced by Lauderdale with Luther Dickinson, and was recorded at the historic Nashville RCA Victor Studio A, where music legends Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings, Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, George Jones and many others have recorded. The recording celebrates the successful effort to save the studio from fading into obscurity at the hands of real-estate developers.
