Am sure many of you would agree that Elton John is a timeless artist. People from every generation know, love, and respect this man who is one of the most successful musicians of all time. However, he is equally known and respected for the support he has always shown to ‘developing’ artists.
Mostly recorded on Zoom, The Lockdown Sessions consists of 16 tracks, including 10 brand new songs. Instead of affecting him in a bad way, he says that this whole journey reminded him of his past as a session musician and this realization was his biggest motivation. “Working with different artists during lockdown reminded me of that,” he says, “I’d come full circle: I was a session musician again. And it was still a blast.”
The Lockdown Sessions features contributions from Dua Lipa, Stevie Wonder, Lil Nas X, Stevie Nicks, Gorillaz, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, rappers Young Thug and Nicki Minaj, country singer Brandi Carlile and more.
