We present regular free live In-store Performances at lunchtimes featuring local & international artists. Some of the artists who have performed on our stage include Richard Thompson, Jimmy Webb, Ron Sexsmith, John Scofield, Michelle Shocked, John Hammond, Dave Alvin, Chris Smither, Stephen Cummings, Mick Thomas, Andy White...to name just a few!

IN STORE SEPTEMBER 2010 THE GIN CLUB - Saturday 4th Sept @ 12.15 *Yes, please note it's a SATURDAY! Over the past 5 yrs, this 7 piece outfit from Brisbane have established themselves as one of Australia's most exciting & interesting bands. Defying categorisation, their music contains elements of acoustic folk, psychedelia, country, pop & more. Touring to promote their 4th album 'DEATHWISH' - you can also catch them at THE RETREAT Fri 3rd Sept, YAH YAH's on Sun 5th Sept, and as special guests at MICK THOMAS' ANNUAL GRAND FINAL EVE SHOW at THE PALACE, Bourke Street. THE YEARLINGS - Friday 10th Sept @ 12.45 We are huge fans of Adelaide roots/alt country duo THE YEARLINGS (Robyn Chalklen & Chris Parkinson) & adore their new CD 'SWEET RUNAWAY'. They'll be touring the East Coast through Sept. promoting this new album - so if you are a fan of acts such as GILLIAN WELCH, DAVID RAWLINGS, THE AUDREYS et al you MUST get along to see them - check guides for dates near you. CHRIS ALTMANN - Friday 17th Sept @ 12.45 Chris leads an incredibly busy musical life with involvement in his rock outfit THE VANDAS (with our lovely Mikey!), side-man for the likes of Tim Rogers, Van Walker, Barb Waters, Mick Thomas etc.etc. & this, his new 7 piece band QUE PASO. Launching their s/titled album, their sound is influenced by Texas border town grooves, up tempo country rock beats & a healthy appreciation of bluegrass. They will also be at THE THORNBURY THEATRE w. special guests on Sat. 18th Sep (we have tickets on sale now). MICK THOMAS & MICHAEL BARCLAY - Friday 24th Sept @ 12.45 Fresh from a tour of the UK, Europe & 2 dates in China through August & Sept, the "boys" will be in to promote their new live CD 'A HEAD FULL OF ROAD-KILL' recorded live in Germany last year. And you can rock along to their Annual Grand Final Eve Show w. special guests Dave Steel, The Gin Club & The Fauves that same night!
